Laptop guide

Which laptop do you have?

Find yours by picture or name, see what it usually needs, then tap "This is mine" to book it. If you already know the exact model, just search for it.

No MacBooks. Apple laptops of any year, Air or Pro, aren't accepted.

Not sure? Find the name in a minute

Easiest

Flip it over

Most laptops have a sticker or printed text on the bottom with the brand and model, like "HP Victus 15-fa0xxx" or "Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ITL6". A photo of that sticker works too.

Windows

Ask the laptop

  1. Press Win+R
  2. Type msinfo32 and press Enter
  3. Read "System Model"

Paperwork

Box or receipt

  1. Check the original box, receipt, or order email
  2. Look for the full model name
  3. Still stuck? Book anyway and describe it

Grouped by series. Tap one to see what it needs and the exact models.

Not accepted

FW Tech doesn't work on these, so please don't book one.

Reasons these aren't accepted
  1. I haven't worked on these laptops before.
  2. They're harder to open, and unfortunately I don't have that much time.

That's pretty much it.

Still not sure?

No problem. Book anyway and describe it, like "black, kinda thick, red lights on the keyboard." I'll figure it out at drop-off.

Which one exactly?

Tap your model if you see it. If not, the series is enough.
